PALT 2025

This conference–workshop empowers language educators to enhance their skills and broaden their impact through the Eight Spheres (8 Ms) of Learning and Teaching. Participants will engage in interactive discussions and hands-on activities to integrate the 8 Ms into learner-centered, competency-based instruction, enabling them to upskill their competencies and upscale their teaching practice.

 

The expected outcomes of this program are as follows:

1. Accurately define and explain at least five (5) key concepts and terminologies related to the 8 Ms of learning and teaching, as evidenced by responses in interactive polls, quizzes, or oral sharing.

2. Generate and articulate relevant examples and insights on the eight spheres—Mentor/Teacher, Mentee/Learner, Matter/Content, Materials/Resources, Methodology/Approaches, Methods and Strategies, Measurement/Monitoring of Learner Progress and Achievement, and Management/Structure; and Milieu—during guided plenary and breakout discussions.

3. Conceptualize teaching–learning scenario that applies the principles of the 8 Ms, demonstrating alignment with active, learner-centered, and competency-based instruction, as showcased in a plenary presentation.
